There has been an Indian Food place near my home in Broomfield – Bombay Palace on Nickel Street, that for some time, I drove by it not paying much attention. It is not in the prime part of town. Instead it sits in a little strip mall off of 120th. The entrance doesn’t say much about it either.
When a friend of mine suggested that we go there for lunch, I hesitated, but he insisted that it is awesome. The lunch buffet is well done, and plentiful, he said.
So, I agreed, and went with him.
Once we entered the restaurant, I was so surprised at how big and open it is, and how tastefully, but not over-done the decor is. The staff is extremely attentive and nice.
I was so thrilled that they have Paneer Pakora as an appetizer, which is not greasy or over done. The Saag, which is my favorite, also comes with the cheese cubes. They have a great beverage list, and they offer very good ‘pours’ – not wimpy at all like some places (we used to call it a ‘banquet pour’ when I worked in the restaurant industry.
My wife and I have been back for dinner many times, and it is now our ‘standby’ in Broomfield for good food, and at very reasonable prices. For any of you Denver folks, it is worth checking out if you are going between Boulder and Denver for any reason. It’s just a few blocks off of 36.
